2x4 is the process of shaving and planing a tree trunk down to the size of dimensional wood, 2 inches by 4 inches. On view in the installation is the planer, all the wood shavings with an image of the original tree trunk buried within the scraps. On the wall the final 2 x4 is exhibited, giving more value to this work of “art”.
