Melt is a performance piece based on Laurie Anderson’s “Duets on Ice”. nicoykatiushka are both dressed in elegant garb and ice skates. They enter the space with the ice skates on and get on the 4 x 3 ice block, immediately kissing. The performance lasts until the block of ice has melted. Melt lasted four hours as their skates slowly wedged into the ice block spreading water along the surrounding floor space. nicoykatiushka performed Melt at Exit Art in 2006 for the Trickster Theater: Drop (water series) and then again at Time Square Alliance in 2011 for Museo del Barrio's 2011 (S) Files Biennale.
Melt es una performance basada en la obra de Laurie Anderson; “Duets on Ice”. Ambos NyK visten elegantemente y visten zapatos de patinaje sobre hielo. Entran al espacio en sus zapatos de patinaje y se montan sobre un cubo de hielo de 4 pies por 3 pies. Inmediatamente empiezan a besarse y lo hacen hasta que el hielo se derrite.
